Lobbyist Registration Statement
AUTHORITY: Chapter 2, Article VIII of the City of Lauderdale Lakes Code of Ordinances

Lobbying means communicating directly or indirectly, in person, by telephone, by letter, or by any other form of communication, on behalf of any other with any City Commissioner, any member of any decision-making body under the jurisdiction of the Board, or any City employee, where the lobbyist seeks to influence a decision to be made by the Board, a decision to be made by any decision-making body under the jurisdiction of the Board, or a final procurement decision to be made by a City employee.

Lobbyist is defined as any individual who engages in lobbying, as defined above, regardless of whether he or she receives any compensation for such lobbying.

Lobbyists are required to register annually, to pay an annual $100.00 registration fee, submit a Lobbyist Registration Statement signed under oath, and annually submit a Statement of Financial Disclosure. The aforementioned Lobbyist Registration Statement and Statement of Financial Disclosure may be uploaded after completion of the online registration process below.

This registration covers the period July 01, 2024 - June 30, 2025

Prior to engaging in lobbying activities, a Lobbyist Registration Statement under oath containing the following information:
  1. The lobbyist's full name, residence address, business address, and nature of business.
  2. The full name and address of his or her employer, if any.
  3. The general and specific subject matters which the lobbyist seeks to influence.
  4. The extent of any direct business association by the lobbyist with any current elected or appointed official or employee of the city. For the purposes of this article, the term "direct business association" shall mean any mutual endeavor undertaken for profit or compensation.
  5. A lobbyist representing a group, association, or organization shall, prior to engaging in lobbying, receive appropriate authorization from said group, association, or organization to lobby on its behalf upon a particular subject matter. A copy of the applicable minutes, motion, or other documentation of action shall be attached to the statements required by subsections (1) and (2) of this section.
  6. All lobbyists who are required to register with the city shall be required to pay an annual licensing fee, which fee shall be established by separate resolution.
A lobbyist shall annually submit to the city clerk's office a signed statement under oath, disclosing all lobbying expenditures, contingency fees, and the sources from which funds for making such expenditures and paying such contingency fees have come. The statement required herein for the period from July 1 to June 30 shall be filed no later than July 15 of each year. Lobbying expenditures shall not include personal expenses for lodging, meals, and travel. Said statements shall be rendered in the form provided by the city clerk's office and shall be open to public inspection. A statement shall be filed even if there have been no expenditures during a reported period. A public official acting in his or her official capacity shall not be required to file the statement required by this subsection.

Prior to meeting with an elected official or city staff, all registered lobbyists must follow the directives related to logging in scheduled meetings by signing in and selecting 'Meeting Sign In'.
 
TERMS OF USE AGREEMENT
I, the undersigned, do hereby swear, under penalty of perjury, that the information furnished below is true and complete to the best of my knowledge. (Check each box below).
I am the person who has signed up for, and is identified by, my password and user ID as the lobbyist.
 
I understand that I may not share my password or user ID with any other person, because my password and user ID are the equivalent of my signature.
 
I understand that I must register as a lobbyist in the City of Lauderdale Lakes for each Employer/Client whom I am representing within 10 days of beginning my lobbying activities.
 
I am authorized by each Employer/Client by whom I am employed to legally certify and make filings required by the Broward County Lobbying Law and the City of Lauderdale Lakes Code of Ordinances.
 
I understand that I will be personally and legally liable for the veracity, accuracy, and timeliness of all information submitted under my password and user ID, including any information filed without my consent or knowledge, as a result of any failure by me to safeguard and keep confidential my password and user ID.
 
I accept all applicable legal and financial liabilities, including for perjury, if any submitted information is not true, complete, or timely filed.
 
I understand that if I authorize anyone else to perform data entry tasks for required filings on my behalf, it will still be my responsibility to review, file, and sign these entries certifying the completeness and accuracy of such filings.
 
I agree to use the City of Lauderdale Lake's Lobbyist Registration Application to file all reports and statements required by Section 1-262 of the Broward County Code of Ordinances, and Chapter 2, Article VIII of the City of Lauderdale Lakes Code of Ordinances.
 
I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to advise the City Clerk's Office of the City of Lauderdale Lakes within 10 days if I am no longer responsible for making filings for any Employer/Client pursuant to the Broward County Lobbying Law and the City of Lauderdale Lakes Code of Ordinances.
 
I further acknowledge that the deadline by which the timeliness of required electronic filings will be judged is 11:59 PM Eastern Time on the final day of the filing period. The filings made electronically in the e-Lobbyist application shall be made in accordance with the Broward County Lobbying Ordinance and the City of Lauderdale Lakes Code of Ordinances; shall contain complete and accurate statements; and shall contain all information required by law for the time period in question.
